Nautilus Cajons

For a decade, as the owner of Nautilus Cajons, I built some of the highest quality, most expensive cajons on the market using all kinds of tone woods. While I always enjoyed working with these beautiful materials, I always felt guilty about the fact that they used to be ancient beautiful trees in a forest somewhere. And the truth is, a cajon made of bamboo performs every bit as well or better than any of these tone woods, and bamboo grows back in a matter of a few years, rather than the decades or centuries it takes for hardwood forests to recover.
